Trendy Travel Spots to Visit this Winter

Winter Break is approaching and it’s important to start planning your holiday trips and festivities now. I always make it a goal to travel somewhere new and exciting any time I am granted an extended break from school. So, if you’re looking to add value to your life (and Instagram feed), here are a few trendy cities in the U.S. that you should look into visiting:

1. New York City, NY There’s seriously nothing more exciting than being in NYC during the holidays. Even though it’s practically the coldest place to visit, the decorations and euphoria permeating the city is second to none.

I had the opportunity to visit NYC during the holidays a few years ago, and it is one of the best experiences I have ever had.

Ice skating in Rockefeller Center is a memory I will never forget. I recommend this spot being on the top of your list when visiting NYC, because you will also get to see the gorgeous 72-foot-tall Christmas tree, as well as the angel statues in one of the nearby courtyards. These views will truly take your breath away and get you into the Christmas spirit.

2. Chicago, IL Chicago is an amazing place to visit year-round but is especially more exciting during the holidays. There’s so much to do there around Christmas, but the real excitement lies in the New Year’s Eve parties.

There’s a breathtaking firework show at the Navy Pier, and nearby you will find super fun and family-friendly parties at some absolutely gorgeous venues like Crystal Gardens.

3. Christmas Town USA, North Carolina To show the south a little love, apparently there’s a town in North Carolina that calls themselves “Christmas Town USA” in December. It is originally McAdenville, NC, but is rightfully retitled due to their amazing Christmas tree display and lights.

There are over 375 trees, 450,000 lights, and free hot cocoa and kettle corn upon arrival to see the decorations.

4. Park City, Utah This is for those who love skiing or snowboarding. Park City transports you to a mini-Christmas village, as if you were in a Hallmark movie or the opening scene of High School Musical.

Not only is it fun to ski during the holidays, you might even spot Santa shredding the slopes. However, there is no guarantee you will meet your Zac Efron, but it’s possible. You never know unless you try.

Winter Break is a time that I look forward to most because of all the exciting events that take place. If I have the opportunity to travel, I enjoy going to an area that puts me in the holiday spirit, as well as adds some excitement and value to my life. Maybe these spots will spice up your winter break a bit. Happy Holidays!
