For graduating students, getting senior portraits are almost like a part of the process. But what can make your portraits stand out?

From holding gold balloons to including your friends in your shots, there are several ways to make your photos charming.

1. Gather your college friends and take some memorable group shots.

People often make the experience. Why not have a photo of your best friends to look back on in the future? Take a photo together in front of your Greek house, the Wildcat Statue or Memorial Hall.

2. Come up with ways to show that you are graduating without your cap and gown.

Use a chalkboard to write a creative message about your graduation. If you kept any textbooks from your classes, stack them up and show off your knowledge and go for a more studious look.

3. Commemorate your study hours in Willy T. by using the library as a backdrop for your portraits.

The books at William T. Young Library could be used for more than just studying, and who doesn't need to log a few more hours there? Snap a few photos of you reading one of your textbooks.

4. Bring a flash of metallic to your pictures with gold balloons of your graduation year.

Graduation is a time to celebrate! Show your excitement with balloons. You could also throw some confetti or glitter in the photo.

5. Moving after you graduate? Take a photo of you picking up your suitcase.

While you are packing up your belongings as you get ready to leave Lexington, use your suitcase as a prop. Add a bumper sticker that says your final destination.
