End of Semester Recovery Guide
Now that the semester is over you can finally relax and recover from all of the end of the year stress. No more late night study sessions and early morning sprints to class. Though we all love to be busy its good to know the right time to put in the time for yourself. In the future, this doesn't have to be just an end of the semester occurrence but maybe you could transition to doing this maybe 1 hour a week. These are some of the things in which you can indulge in when it comes to self-care.
Digital Detoxing As students professors or anyone for that matter at this day and age, we are always on our devices. Taking a little time to step away from your laptop or your phone for a while is an excellent way to be off of the radar for a little while.
Catch Up Due to the hustle and bustle of the end of the year, you may have had to set aside sleep, exercise and healthy eating habits due to the need to stay focused. So take this time to catch up on those things reorganize your life. This could also be catching up on a fun read and meditation.
Meditation As cliché, as it may sound almost every successful person, swears by meditation. Meditation reduces stress and can promote emotional health so even a short 10-minute session could be enough to put you back into a comfortable headspace. Finding guided meditation is easy on YouTube or even apps like headspace are great for those needed a guide.
Pampering Self-care shouldn't focus solely on beauty but pampering is truly a necessity. Some of my favorite things to do on a day of pampering is a hair and face mask. Soaking in a nice long bath with a drop or two of essential oils and a few candles. Though I am not able to do this often after I do I realize just how much I enjoy treating myself.
Aromatherapy There has been a lot of uproar around the new trend of aromatherapy. And personally, I say it is worth the hype whether you are putting the oils on your wrist on your pillow or in a diffuser the scents are so beneficial some of my favorites are rosemary, tea tree and eucalyptus oils these oils really allow you to relax and are best used when trying to fall asleep.
