Paris Fashion Week: Fashion Month Finale
With the conclusion of Paris Fashion Week comes the conclusion of Fashion Month, for this season at least. As always, PFW was the biggest and most noteworthy week of all, with innovative designs and even more innovative runway shows.
The Chanel show was truly out-of-this-world with a giant spaceship "taking off" and the most fashionable astronauts you'll ever see. The show was perfectly timed not only to celebrate the modernity of today's woman, but it was also reminiscent of the highly awarded film, Hidden Figures and the women of space exploration.
Rather than Chanel's look toward the future, Miu Miu took a funkier approach with bright purple faux fur stairs and equally furred-up models. Rihanna's presentation of Fenty x Puma featured "Fenty University" students fully clad in ultra chic college gear that you probably won't see around campus any time soon. Like Chanel, Rihanna's show was perfectly timed as models walked down Harvard-esque library tables with green lamps. RiRi just happened to be back from accepting Harvard's Humanitarian of the Year Award - coincidence? We think not.
Other RiRi inspired looks of the week came from two separate shows. The black berets worn by the models at the Dior show paid homage to the berets worn by female soldiers in the U.S. Army starting in 1975. Rihanna just happened to be wearing a black leather beret as she sat front row at Dior. Rihanna was also spotted in the super sparkly boots that took the audience by storm at Saint Laurent. Needless to say, Rihanna ruled PaRih.
