Top 10 Affordable Stores For Fall Decor

It’s officially #SpookySeason. Fall is my favorite season to get decor for my apartment. Decor can be really expensive when you’re saving up to pay your bills and to also have a budget for outside activities and other “adulating” necessities. I have found it particularly challenging for young college women to have fun with their decor selection without going over budget. Below are the top 10 stores you can shop at for fall decor and still come in under budget:

1. T.J. Maxx: One of the best stores to find decor and even popular brand beauty products for cheap is T.J. Maxx. Every year, they have their own collection of fall decor for as low as $50 (depending on what you’re getting). Not only do they have decor for the inside of your place, but they also have decor for outside, such as mats, fake pumpkins, and door hangers.

2. Big Lots: Now, I wasn’t a big fan of Big Lots until I became a college student. They have everything that a college student dreams of for low prices. Big Lot’s fall collection is to die for this year. They have three separate collections in three different colors, including orange, green and white. The collections consist of pumpkins, decor silverware, and canvases all under $20.

3. Marshall’s: Marshall’s is somewhat like T.J. Maxx but more decor-based. They usually run the same prices as T.J. Maxx and have an inexpensive fall collection. They have a great selection of hand towels, rugs, plates, and cups.

4. Bath and Body Works: Even though Bath and Body Works is for skincare, they do have amazing fall candles and small decor pieces for your candles to sit in. While this store is not always the cheapest, if you want amazing fall candles that will last a long time then Bath and Body Works is for you.

5. Pier 1: Pier 1 can be pricey, but you have to choose wisely on what you pick out to make it worth your buck. Every year I’m amazed by their collection. Since Pier 1 is known for year round decor, their items can range from pillows to silverware to plants and even couches.

6. Target: We all love Target (I hope you do). Target usually comes out with seasonal collections every two months. This store is usually cheap ($15-$30) for anything that has to deal with festive home decor.

7. Walmart: Walmart is the cheapest place compared to Big Lots. Even though I personally do not shop at Walmart that often, you can find some amazing gems there for half the price. You must have patience and time if you really want to find the good deals.

8. Local Shops: Depending on where you live, there are probably many local decor shops in your area that you can find with a quick Google search. These local decor shops thrive off their local customers. Shop at your local shop before hitting up any other corporate stores. For all you know, you might be getting things much cheaper than you expected and you’ll be supporting small businesses at the same time.

9. Wayfair: Wayfair is an online decor store that you can buy things for as low as $8. It can get pretty expensive depending on what you’re looking for, but Wayfair is a new decor company that has been open for a few years. Check them out next time you're in the market for something specific.

10. Overstock.com: The site is an online decor store that gives out free shipping on all items (which is a huge plus). Not only do they have great deals, but they also have perks for their members (coupons and percentage off sales).

This fall season, be sure to take full advantage of this list. Happy fall decor shopping!
