Go to College for Free!

Let's get real, college is hard, especially when you are trying to pay for it. When I was a senior in high school, I was petrified of college because of financial aspects of it. Debt scared me. The word “debt” and the thought of it made me start to cry at times. The horror stories you hear in the news about college kids paying off hundreds of thousands of dollars during and after college made me feel like I was going to be trapped in debt forever. If you’re like me, afraid of loans and owing a ton of money after school and you want to find free scholarship money then keep scrolling for my advice on how to receive them!

Before listing my advice, I’m happy to say that I’m currently a junior in college and I have no debt to my name! You can believe that it was hard, but it truly pays off in the end. Go get your scholarships and grants!

1. Patience and Working Hard

Everyone is unique especially when it comes to scholarships and grant money. You must find the right scholarships and grants that apply to you. The requirements and eligibility are the most important when filling out the applications. Sometimes this can be a pain in the butt. Finding scholarships can take up hours or even months of your time. Patience is key!

2. Think About Your Qualities

A lot of people think they cannot qualify for scholarships for many reasons, which are wrong. First, find qualities about yourself. What do you like to do? What is your major? What is your ethnicity? Have you been in an organization for years? Do your parent’s work have scholarships? There are so many avenues and so much free money out there! You deserve not to have to pay money out of pocket for school. Many people are willing to pay for you!

3. Brag About Yourself, It’s Ok

This is your one time to brag about yourself. It’s like interviewing for a job. Show them your work, accomplishments and your personality. You want them to make sure you’re their best candidate and their scholarship or grant is going to the right person. It’s ok to be cocky this one time.
