Get to know the movies that are nominated.

Going out to your local theater or going to the city to see a limited released film can be fun and help you get ready for award season. Staying up to date on entertainment news can help you be in the loop on not only the celebrities but the movies as well.

Get to know the celebrities that are on the red carpet.

Know the people that are in the movies you are watching! I live on IMDB during award season so I can know the history of the actor or actress that has the chance of winning an award. I stay googling who has won how many and what awards in the winter. Watching red carpet shows are only fun when you know the celebrity and know what they are about. Being in the pop culture or entertainment loop is what will keep these shows fun and help you learn more about the movies and actors.

Get ready for those live streams!

Not everyone has cable or the channels these awards come on. Your best place to find a FREE live stream is Twitter. They want viewers to have easy access to these ceremonies so they can get those views. Going on their official Twitter page you’ll find a live stream link in no time. Don’t trust those sketchy links that are guaranteed to end during the biggest award of the night. Another way to assure you'll be able to view the show is by having a viewing party at your friend's house, one of my favorite things to do is have all my friend’s fill out a ballot on who will win and whoever has the most accurate ballot wins! Watching these ceremonies are easy and very accessible.

Stay up to date on news going on about the actors and movies.

There’s always those problematic celebrities nominated for something that they might not be the best candidate for. Staying on top of news stories will keep you in the loop. Not only should you focus on the nominees also enjoy the movies that were close to being nominated. Some of my favorite movies have come from the cut that didn't make it.

But overall have fun and enjoy the movies and music that people work really hard to produce and create!
