Make Your Outfit- Accessorize!
We all know that feeling of going shopping, finding the perfect outfit, and going home eager to put it on. You get dressed and stand in front of the mirror, you love the outfit, and yet you still feel as if something is missing. As the fall season is here and winter soon on the way I understand that it can be easy to bundle up in hoodies and sweatpants. Finding the motivation to dress up is a lot more difficult. In the summer it is easy to toss on a dress and some dainty earrings and a simple necklace. In the colder months though matching jewelry with a bulky sweater can be more of a challenge. Here are some tips I have composed to think about when putting together your outfits and accessories this season.
Mix your metals- Try mixing warmly toned jewelry such as gold or rose gold, with a contrasting cool silver tone to pop. Pick a central metal to be your base color and then try incorporating other shades in. For the different shades, I would recommend using a statement piece like a bold necklace or a great pair of earrings. Accessorizing like this can make your outfit appear a lot more expensive, but still gives it that effortless look.
Choose Comfortable Shoes- It can be nice to wear a rocking pair of stilettos on occasion, but sometimes picking something comfier can be crucial to a great outfit. Whether you opt for block heels or eliminate heels all together and go for a flat, you can still make a great outfit. It is all about knowing the occasion and what you will be doing. After all, you won’t look or feel as good if you are in pain.
Dare to be different- Don’t put effort into making your outfit match, using statement pieces and different colors is now trendy. You can try this out by using a statement bag with a pop of fun color and pair it with a different color shoe. Doing this can make your outfit appear new and modern.
Layering- Beauty bloggers consider layering a third item to add dimension to your outfit. Now the colder weather is upon us you can create this look by adding a colorful patterned scarf to your look. By adding another layer like a hat, a scarf or a belt, you are anchoring your outfit, and you won't have to add much more accessories.
Proportions- When matching your accessories to your clothes be sure to keep proportions in mind. For example pair a sleek tighter sweater with a statement necklace, or something that stands out. If you are wearing an outfit with more volume scale back on the accessories and try a simple earring or bracelet.
Next time you roll out of bed and reach for that comfortable hoodie, think about how easy it can be to dress up and stay warm using these accessorizing tips.
