People's Choice Awards
Of all of the award shows, People’s Choice Awards is, by far, one of my favorites. While I really enjoy the award shows that are fancier, I find it hard to keep up with all of the movies and films that are nominated by the Academy.
The People’s Choice Awards are voted on by fans, making people more interested in them. Also, the PCAs cover a wide variety of categories, which assures that everyone has a reason to watch.
All of your favorite celebrities gather for one night: from A-list movie stars to social media influencers. The red carpet is a one-stop-shop for some killer looks from your favorite people.
This year, the Academy Awards, as usual, celebrated the same movies and TV shows over, and over, again. The People’s Choice Awards will give us a chance to recognize the movie’s that grabbed our attention, not the critics.
In the movie category, the PCA’s award the best comedy, action, drama, and family movies. Within each of these categories, they award the best male and female actor, along with the best all-together actor or actress.
Ocean’s 8, A Quiet Place, Incredibles 2, and Black Panther are just some of the movies that are nominated for People’s Choice Awards.
Next, is the television category. The TV Show category is split up into drama, comedy, revival, reality, and competition shows. Within the drama, comedy, binge-worthy, fantasy, and revival categories, they will be awarding the best TV stars. They will also award the best Daytime and Nighttime talk shows.
Grey’s Anatomy, The Late Late Show with James Corden, and Riverdale are just a few of the TV shows that are nominated for PCAs.
Now, we move on to the Music nominees and awards. The biggest awards for musicians will be the Male and Female Artist of the Year awards. They will be awarding the song of the year and the album of the year, as well. Separate awards will be given to the best country and Latin singers.
Taylor Swift, Drake, and Thomas Rhett are all nominated for PCAs.
The last category is for pop culture. This category is what sets the PCAs apart from any other award show, in my eyes. This is a category designated to those celebrities that have grown their brand on media. This category will have awards for the top social star, beauty influencer, social celebrity, animal star, comedian celebrity, style star, podcast, etc.
Examples of celebrities that are nominated in this category are Chrissy Teigen, Serena Williams, and Jenna Marbles.
The People’s Choice Awards will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2018, on E! Entertainment at 9 p.m. YOU can vote now online at E!.
