5 Date Nights in Lexington, Kentucky and How to Dress for Them
In our busy lives as college students, the idea of dating can become daunting as well as a lot of work. We can barely find times in our schedules filled with classes and tests to make time for ourselves so how do we see time to date. Lexington is filled with places that are perfect for the first date all the way to a more serious one. I have come up with a few suggestions as well as the perfect outfit for each one, now since that is done all you have to do is find the time to go.
DATE #1
First dates can be a little uncomfortable for us all. That is why I suggest something like a study session over coffee. This way you can get back to homework if the conversation is lacking. My favorite place to go to is the Chocolate Holler. If you go, you have to try the cookie butter hot chocolate.
OUTFIT #1
Wear a tie blouse that has a fun pattern because it is laid back yet stylish paired with your favorite pair of jeans. Finish with some comfortable shoes. Ditch the backpack for a cuter tote bag and you are set for your coffee date!
DATE #2
Another good first-date idea is going to a movie at Cinemark since you won't have to make a lot of conversation during the film to relieve potential awkwardness. A movie I saw recently that was incredible was "A Star is Born," but check with your date before seeing it.
OUTFIT #2
For a movie-date try a simple graphic t-shirt to add an aspect of comfort. Pair it with a funky skirt or maybe something with a little fringe, given how popular it is lately. Since your going to a movie, I would suggest something more relaxed then heels so maybe a cute pair of flats.
DATE #3
The next date is an outdoorsy type of date to get you outside and exploring Lexington. I recommend going to the University of Kentucky Arboretum because it is so pretty and very close to campus.
OUTFIT #3
Wear a comfortable pair of leggings with a t-shirt and an oversized sweater or a flannel. You can either wear gym shoes or a cuter pair of boots depending on what activities you are doing. Finally, pile on a warm scarf and a cute bobble hat.
DATE #4
The Summit has quickly become one of my favorite places near campus. It has a food court filled with unique food and a Shake Shack. As well as some of my favorite stores like Anthropologie and Free People.
OUTFIT #4
For a simple day out, I would wear some skinny jeans, a cute knitted sweater, and a long soft jacket or cardigan. Pair this outfit with some heeled booties or a pair of flats. This adorable yet simple outfit is perfect for any day out activity.
DATE #5
Once you're a little more familiar with your date, you might go to a formal restaurant in Lexington. An excellent place to go is the famous Malones, as it is fantastic and relatively close to campus.
OUTFIT #5
I would wear a dress that you like and feel confident in. You can either wear a cardigan or something more casual such as a leather jacket. For shoes, I would wear a simple heel that is not too fancy! Add some accessories and you are good to go. Try mixing gold and silver toned jewelry and make sure it matches the look you are shooting for.
