Spring Into Date Night
Channel the bright colors of spring into your fashion wardrobe this Valentine’s Day
When it’s the middle of winter, “date night” means ordering a large pizza, watching Netflix and cuddling up with your significant other in your favorite pair of sweats. Netflix and Chill was made for the cold.
But, when the weather gets warmer, your favorite TV series will seem much less appealing compared to the great outdoors.
Which means you’ll also need a cute and fun outfit to take you from the couch to the fresh air.
With bulky sweaters, Bean boots and heavy coats, you (and your closet) might be a little out of touch with your spring fashion sense.
So, throw on your favorite pair of booties, a casual dress (something to keep you cozy) and add accessories: a statement necklace or a fun scarf.
Now, you’re ready for whatever fun, romantic adventure may come your way.
But, if the cold weather did freeze your brain during Snowpocalypse 2016, here are a few date ideas to warm up for the spring:
1. Go for a long walk on one of the Arboretum’s trails. The flowers and trees are gorgeous, and you’ll get some exercise. You could even bring some snacks and have a picnic! Bonus points: go super early to watch the sunrise or just before dark to check out the famous Kentucky sunset.
2. Do a restaurant hop: head to one for an appetizer, another for the main course, and a last stop for the most important course of all – dessert! Plenty of places have popped up all over town, many of which have outdoor seating. So, out with the old and try somewhere new.
3. If you’re feeling artsy, try a visit to the Art Museum at UK, and then head downtown for the Gallery Hop. After all, art is both intellectually stimulating and romantic. Whatever you and your S.O. decide, make sure to keep it like the spring weather: fun and light.
