Fall in the Bluegrass: Celebrating the Season of Change
Warm hues, crisp days, Keeneland races and Caturdays are the glorious signs that fall is finally here in the bluegrass. Whether you keep it low-key for class or dress to the nines for Keeneland, we can all admit that in Kentucky, fall is the best season for fashion.
Along with pumpkins, cider and Halloween excitement, fall gives us some of the most versatile pieces that will take you from day to night, hot to cold and relaxed-grungy to trendy-chic.
One of the most versatile fall staples is the classic denim jacket. With all of its variations (distressed, cropped, etc.), it’s easy to find one that expresses your style. You can wear a denim jacket to class over leggings and a tee or over a sweater with trainers, adding texture and dimension to your relaxed look. When it’s time to take it up a notch, wear it with a lace or ruffled dress. The simplicity of denim will give any dress a down-to-earth feel, and the extra layer will give you a bit of warmth on those cool Kentucky days.
Over-the-knee boots are also a fall favorite. Take your summer dresses, skirts and shorts into fall with a pair of these extra tall boots. Want a more casual look? Pair them with your favorite pair of skinny jeans and a floral blouse to nail one of this season’s favorite trends.
To top off your fall look, hats and scarves are perfect accessories for layering. Whether you’re actually chilly or you just want that extra layer of fall fashion, these accessories can complete your whole outfit.
Autumn is undoubtedly a lovely season, so let your style reflect it and fall in love with fall!
