A Fashion Recap on Inauguration Day

Friday saw the beginning of a new era in American politics. Donald J. Trump, a businessman from New York, was sworn in as the 45th president of the United States. The First Family often becomes an icon in American culture in many ways - including fashion.

The Trumps and other key persons at the Inauguration showed up in designer clothes that may have very well taken the spotlight. No matter what side of the aisle you are on, we can all agree the outfits were stunning.

Melania Trump wore a custom powder blue design by Ralph Lauren.

The First Lady broke her usual hairstyle of long waves and opted to pull her hair up into a deep side-parted twist, according to Vogue. Mrs. Trump’s skirt suit is reminiscent of former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy, ELLE suggested.

Kellyanne Conway, counselor to the president, wore a patriotic look.

The Cut reported that Conway called the Gucci design “Trump revolutionary wear.” The buttons on the coat are gold cat heads.

Michelle Obama left the White House in a burgundy tea-length dress.

The former First Lady has worn many iconic outfits over the past eight years. On Friday, Mrs. Obama opted for an a-line dress with a thin black belt and classic pumps, Vogue reported. She chose to pull her new bob haircut into a sleek bun.

Hillary Clinton wore a white Ralph Lauren pantsuit.

The former Secretary of State, Democratic Presidential Nominee and First Lady stuck with Ralph Lauren, whose designs she wore many times on the campaign trail. Some speculated that Clinton wore white in honor of suffragettes long ago, Vogue said.
