Spring Break Style Tips
We're just days away from spring break for University of Kentucky students and the verdict is in – no one knows what to pack for their week-long getaways!
Spring break is all about having fun and feeling confident, so the best way to start any trip is knowing that you have outfits you love packed and ready to wear. The big question is: how can you find time to pack during a week filled with exams? With the stress of midterms hitting right before the break, it can seem impossible to plan the perfect outfit between classes.
My advice is to carve out one hour on two different days during the week before your trip. During the first packing session, pull out your favorite clothing items, shoes, accessories, and everything else you think you might need for the big trip. For session two, write down the number of days you will be gone and the type of outfit you will need for each day. Then, try on your outfits. Trying on every outfit might sound tedious but it is important for feeling confident on your trip. By doing this, you will be able to find looks you love and eliminate looks that don’t make the cut, and it will shorten the time it takes to get ready everyday (which means more time for the fun stuff!). Snap a photo of each outfit you love; this will make packing and getting ready a breeze.
This year I’m headed to Florence, Italy for 12 days filled with fashion, food and adventure. My go-to look for the trip will be shift dresses paired with booties, statement necklaces, and my, all-time favorite, a leather jacket. Dresses are easy to throw in a suitcase and they don’t take up too much room. I’m keeping the shoes I take to a minimum, just one pair of stacked heel booties and one pair of Tory Burch flats. In the past, I have been known to over pack but since learning the trick of packing in outfits, I always have just what I need.
Remember these packing tips as you prepare to take off on your spring break adventure and don’t forget, midterms shouldn’t keep you from showing off your style this spring break!
