Trend predictions for 2018

The new year is finally here and with it comes a whole array of new fashion trends! Here are KRNL’s fashion predictions for 2018:

Monochromatic pastels: Pastels always make an appearance in the beginning of the year but this year, there is a shift toward wearing entire outfits assembled out of the same pastel color. This is a style that can definitely be dressed up or styled down.

Denim on denim: All denim is making a comeback! This is a daring yet fun style to try out. You aren’t limited to a denim jacket with jeans, either. You can experiment with different denim clothing pieces like tops, skirts and dresses!

Bright and bold color block: Wearing a few different solid colored pieces that go with each other is a great way to stand out. Especially when it’s cold and gray outside, a pop of color will do you and your onlookers some good.

Artistic florals: Florals are “in” every spring but what stands out this year is the type of pattern. Bold florals that are reminiscent of Van Gogh’s famous paintings will make your outfit not only bright but historically relevant, too.

Jumpsuits: Rompers have evolved into a year-round trend. This is a really fun but also comfortable trend that looks effortless in any season.

Trousers: Trousers have been on the rise since the power pantsuit comeback of Hilary Clinton. Contrary to some beliefs, trousers can also be paired with a t-shirt and sneakers for a more casual look or they can be paired with heels and a blouse for a more sophisticated look.

Sheer fabrics: Sheer clothing is a neat way to spice up your outfit and add dimension. You might want to wait until the weather warms up to incorporate it into your style but if you’re willing to rough the cold, go for it!
